In the list of documents below you should be able to find everything you need to know regarding your aikido training insurance with the British Aikido Board. Take a moment to look at all the titles.
If you are an instructor using a Leisure Centre then the Centre may ask to see the civil liability certificate listed below.
Do take a few minutes to read the “insurance questions answered” (FAQs) document and, in the event of accidents/injury there are 2 forms to be completed: one by the injured person and one by the instructor. All that said, if you are still unsure about whether you’ve found the answer you are looking for then you can contact me through the following BAB email address: insuranceofficer@bab.org.uk

Membership Certificate Overview.
The green venue slips provide liability insurance for the club / association. A separate green insurance slip should be in place for each venue that you habitually train at. It would not be required for ad-hoc venues that may, for example, be used for a seminar, although it would be prudent to ensure that the owner, of the venue that you are using, does have adequate liability and indemnity insurance.
The blue slips are the individual’s proof of valid BAB membership which includes personal liability insurance and accident cover.
There are 2 elements to the BAB insurances:
Professional Indemnity & Civil Liability Cover.
The Professional Indemnity element covers the person being sued, and the Civil Liability element covers both the member and the Club, Association and / or BAB Management, whomever is deemed to be at fault. This liability is limited to £10m for any one occurrence claim.
Personal Accident Cover.
This element is a limited payment to the injured party covering various levels of disability. The maximum payout is set at £50,000.
Please note : coach & student insurance is only valid for Members of current Associations.
