History : Shobu Aikido U.K. is an association of like-minded Aikido dojo founded in June 2004 by its Chief Instructor George Forbes Sensei (7th Dan) who has been practicing Aikido for over 50 years. George has studied in Japan, Belgium, France, Spain and the U.S.A. on a regular basis with many different Sensei but his passion is Aikido as was taught by Nobuyoshi Tamura Shihan (8th Dan) and Pierre Chassang Shihan (8th Dan). George Forbes became a student of Pierre more than 25 years ago. He says that meeting Pierre changed not only his practice in the dojo but also the way he applied Aikido to his everyday life. | |

Style : Shobu Aikido U.K. practises a traditional style based on the foundations of Aikido given by Nobuyoshi Tamura Shihan, whilst emphasising Aikido as a practical and effective method of conflict resolution.
